The latest release is Talkies TV 1.2. To install or update by hand, open the Downloader app on the TV and go to dl.feathertouch.studio/etv.apk. Once you have 1.1 or later, updates install from inside the app.

What's new
A new, roomier film page: a big title, then the buttons, the story and cast, and the ratings chart side by side.
Films the site marks as Must Watch carry a violet star on the poster.
If the app crashes, a crash report is sent automatically so it can be fixed (no titles, searches or account details are included).
Fixes
Dubbed films and films in another language are now labelled, so a Telugu original no longer looks like a Tamil film.
When it finishes, choose Install. If asked, allow Downloader to install apps, then come back and choose Install again.
Android asks whether to install an update to the existing app: choose Install. Do not uninstall the old app first.
Open Talkies TV (the old Feathertouch Cinema icon is replaced by it).
What carries over
Your Favorites, Continue Watching and chosen language stay as they were after the update. You stay signed in too, so there's no need to sign in again. The saved home lists refresh once after the update, so the first start may take a few seconds longer.
If it says "App not installed"
Don't uninstall the old app: that erases your Favorites, Continue Watching, chosen language and sign-in.
Check the TV has some free space, download the file again and retry.
Make sure the file came from dl.feathertouch.studio; a copy from anywhere else is refused as an update.
If it still fails, ask before uninstalling anything.

Talkies TV 1.1

The first release called Talkies TV, and the first that can update itself.
What's new
The app is now called Talkies TV, on the home screen and in your apps.
Updates install from inside the app: when a new version is out, an "Update available" button appears at the top of the home screen. The first time, the TV asks you to allow Talkies TV to install apps.
Menu has a Check for updates entry that looks for a new version on request.
Fixes
Pressing Right at the end of a row keeps the highlight in the row instead of jumping to the Menu.
Fast presses along a row no longer send the highlight up to the top bar.
The language button lights up only when it's highlighted, so it's easier to tell what's selected, and its two language names line up.
1.0 can't update itself. To move to the latest release, follow the one-time steps under the newest release at the top of this page.
From 1.1 on
Newer releases install from inside the app: choose Update when the app offers it.
